(Construction) - On March 7, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi had a working session with the Korean Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam, Mr. Choi Youngsam.

During the session, he expressed his pleasure at the expanded and deepened cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Korea in all fields including diplomacy, politics, and economics.

The Ministry of Construction aims to enhance cooperation with Korean partners by coordinating the organization of conferences and seminars. Additionally, it seeks to strengthen exchange activities between working groups to learn from Korea's experience in various fields, including urban development management, infrastructure, water supply and drainage, social housing development, and support for ODA projects. These efforts are focused on developing smart urban areas, green urban areas, and social housing.

The Minister suggested that Korea continue to maintain training support programs for Vietnamese state management officials in areas such as planning, urban development, and technical infrastructure development. Participation in these courses will serve as an important bridge to promote specialized cooperation between the two sides.

Ambassador Choi Youngsam expressed his joy at visiting the Ministry of Construction and thanked Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi for taking the time to receive him and his delegation. He highly appreciated Vietnam's achievements in economic development, particularly in urban development, housing, and the real estate market, over the past period.

The Ambassador also noted that, thanks to the attention and guidance of the Minister of Construction, the project to establish the Vietnam-Korea Cooperation Center on smart urban areas and construction technology has progressed smoothly. It is expected that relevant parties will coordinate efforts to complete within this year.

The Ambassador added that Korean businesses operating in the construction sector in Vietnam are keen to enhance cooperation with Vietnamese partners. Therefore, he proposed that the Ministry of Construction organize an annual dialogue program in Vietnam, providing Korean businesses with the opportunity to exchange ideas and propose new initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two sides.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that the Ministry of Construction always listens to ideas, cooperation proposals, and contributions from Korean businesses. Within the scope of its functions and tasks, the Ministry of Construction encourages and creates favorable conditions for Korean businesses, as well as international businesses in general, to expand cooperation, investment, and operations in Vietnam in accordance with Vietnamese law regulations.

At the same time, the Minister affirmed that units and authorities of the Ministry of Construction will continue to exchange experiences and collaborate with Korean partners to facilitate the progress of joint projects under development.
