(Construction) - Japanese company JFE Engineering Corporation has signed the basic agreement on a business alliance with Binh Duong Water Environment Joint Stock Company (BIWASE.), a water supply and environment business company in Vietnam.

JFE has acquired 3.87% of the shares of BIWASE wtih an aim to make a full-scale entry into the country's water business. BIWASE is headquartered in Binh Duong Province, which is adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City, and handles the ownership and operation of eight water purification plants and one waste treatment facility. It also operates and maintains (O & M) public sewage treatment plants. Through the alliance, JFE and BIWASE will cooperate in expanding the water purification plants, development of the sewage treatment plant and waste recycling/treatment business, and promote collaboration for the O & M business.
JFE Engineering will continue to expand its business in the EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) and operation business of water purification plants and sewage treatment plants in the Asian region including Vietnam. (2020/11/13)
