(Construction) – Recently in Hanoi, the Steering Committee held the first meeting to plan the urban and rural system for the period of 2021 - 2030 with a vision to 2050. Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Head of the Steering Committee chaired the meeting.

Taking comments at the meeting, the members of the Steering Committee suggested and removed the shortcomings and difficulties according to the recommendations of the Working Group, and at the same time commented to help the consulting unit reviewing, supplementing and improving the quality of the draft Master Plan before sending it to the public.
At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that to plan the urban and rural system for the period of 2021 - 2030 with a vision to 2050 was an important political task of the Ministry of Construction, so the Members of the Ministry should participate actively and effectively. In particular, the consulting unit VIUP both performs the consulting responsibilities under the contract and is responsible of the organization under the Ministry of Construction, therefore should mobilize all resources to ensure the best implementation of the assigned task.
Regarding to the proposal of the Working Group on adjusting the planning time on the basis of the comments of the members, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi assigned the Urban Development Agency to coordinate with the consulting unit proposing the specific time for the Ministry of Construction to submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision.
At the same time, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi directed functional units under the Ministry to coordinate in organizing seminars and gather national and international expert opinions for the draft Master Plan; focus on ensuring the quality and progress of planning, which closely following the approval decision of planning tasks approved by the Prime Minister.
