(Construction) - On November 8 in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Construction Le Quang Hung had a working session with the United Nations Human Settlement Program (UN-Habitat) expert delegation on the issues that two sides were interest, including cooperation on urban development.
At the meeting, Mr. Laxman Perera - Senior Asia-Pacific expert, Head of UN-Habitat delegation highly appreciated Vietnamese efforts and determination in planning, construction, management and sustainable urban development.

Mr. Laxman Perera commented that Vietnam has achieved positive results in the process of comprehensively sustainable urban development, from promoting the urbanization, planning rural development to implementing international commitments related to urban development and environmental protection.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung expressed his gratitude to UN-Habitat for creating favorable conditions for the Ministry of Construction to attend the 11th World Urban Conference in Poland in June 2022, and assessed UN-Habitat was an important partner of the Ministry of Construction in many fields, especially in urban development.
Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung said that the Ministry of Construction was willing to share experiences on urban development with other countries and international organizations, towards the sustainable development and common prosperity of cities.
Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung and Senior Expert Laxman Perera agreed to assign relevant agencies to act as focal points to contact and exchange contents of mutual interests, in order to further strengthen the relationship cooperation between the Ministry of Construction and UN-Habitat in the near future.
