(Construction) - This was the content mentioned by Deputy Minister of Construction Le Quang Hung at the seminar "Developing smart cities in the process of urbanization associated with industrialization and modernization to 2030, Vision to 2045" hosted by the Central Economic Commission in the form of direct combination online, on November 10.
Deputy Minister of Construction Le Quang Hung noted that the Ministry are urgently developing basic criteria for smart cities to be applied in all urban areas, suitable for urban areas in Vietnam; Building legal foundations, regulations and standards for smart cities; Building interconnected (digitized) database of land, planning, traffic, population and other urban spatial data; Developing smart cities planning, applying GIS; Developing infrastructure systems for smart cities; Management and operation of smart phones.

Smart cities development is not only the responsibility of the central authority but also needs of urban governments and partners that needs to be concretized on the basis of implementation and cooperation plans.
The ideas and proposals on smart cities development that experts and scientists contributed to the seminar will be combined by the Editorial Team of the project "Industrialization and modernization guidelines and policies to 2030, with a vision until 2045” to consider and synthesize in the project building and submit to the Central Committee in 2022.
