Appraising general planning of Phu Quoc economic zone to 2040

(Construction) - On October 8, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van chaired the appraisal conference of the general planning of Phu Quoc economic zone, Kien Giang province to 2040, with a vision to 2050.

At the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van suggested the consulting unit and the locality to coordinate and review the plans that have been implemented in Phu Quoc which evaluated the advantages and disadvantages and draw lessons learned. Thereby, it should edit the content of planning tasks better.

Overview of the conference.

The Deputy Minister also suggested to review whether Phu Quoc lacks of any criteria of a national tourism area to determine the exact tasks of the master plan. The consulting unit should seriously absorb the comments of the Appraisal Council, especially the population forecast, land forecast, environmental protection and landscape and architecture construction. On that basis, the Deputy Minister requested the consulting unit to coordinate with the locality and quickly complete the planning document and submit to the Ministry of Construction for next step.
