(Construction) - Japanese construction company Obayashi Corporation has completed a next-generation in-house training facility “Port Plus”, the country’s first high-rise fire-resistant, purely wooden building in Yokohama.

1,990 cubic meters of lumber was used for the frames and interior materials. It will stably fix approximately 1652 tons of carbon dioxide for a long period of time. In terms of the overall life cycle from material production to construction, demolition, and disposal, it is likely to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 40% compared to a steel structure building.
