(Construction) - On October 9, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi presented the Medal for the Cause of Construction to Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam.
In his congratulatory remarks, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi acknowledged that Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen had successfully fulfilled his role as Ambassador for the period 2021–2024.

During his more than three years in Vietnam, the Ambassador made significant contributions to enhancing and developing the longstanding cooperation between Cuba and Vietnam across various fields, including politics, diplomacy, and trade. Notably, he played a vital role in fostering economic, scientific, and technical collaboration within the framework of the Vietnam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee (UBLCP).
On the occasion of the Ambassador's conclusion of his term in Vietnam, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi, on behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Construction, was pleased to present the Medal for the Cause of Construction to Mr. Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen. This award recognizes the Ambassador's significant contributions to the Vietnamese construction industry and the Vietnam-Cuba Joint Committee for Construction, playing a crucial role in promoting and developing the friendly, united, and traditional cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.
Expressing gratitude to the Ministry of Construction and Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Mr. Orlando Nicolas Hernandez remarked that during his tenure as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in Vietnam, the Ministry of Construction had consistently served as a vital pillar in fostering economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen expressed his deep honor in receiving the Medal for the Construction Cause, which holds special significance for him personally. He extended his gratitude to the Ministry of Construction for recognizing his efforts and for the cooperation, solidarity, and support extended to Cuban enterprises in promoting investment projects between the two countries.
The Ambassador specifically thanked the Ministry of Construction and Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi for their efforts in urging, organizing, and effectively implementing the agreements and outcomes from the meetings of the CPPCC focused on economic, trade, scientific, and technological cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba. This support played a vital role in helping him successfully complete his term in Vietnam.
Ambassador Orlando Nicolas Hernandez Guillen also pledged to continue fostering and promoting the cooperative relationship between Vietnamese and Cuban enterprises.
