(Construction) – On July 23, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi met and discussed with Cuban Minister of Construction Rene Mesa Villafana and his working delegation.
At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi noted that in recent times, both sides have made significant efforts to implement various initiatives and have achieved some specific results. The Ministry of Construction has focused on directing, providing specific guidance, and supporting DINVAI Vietnam Company in obtaining a second-class organizational capacity certificate for the civil construction sector. Currently, the Ministry is working to secure a second-class capacity certificate for DINVAI Vietnam in the infrastructure and transport sector.

The two Ministries have also maintained working delegations, shared information, and created favorable conditions to promote cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba. Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi suggested that the two Ministries should continue to effectively implement the signed cooperation agreements and focus on promoting three key areas.
During the meeting, Cuban Minister of Construction Rene Mesa Villafana expressed his deep condolences to the Party, State, and people of Vietnam on the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong – a dear comrade and sincere friend of Cuba.
Minister Rene Mesa Villafana stated that recently, the Cuban Ministry of Construction and the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction have established many specific bilateral cooperation agreements, achieving results that contribute to enhancing the cooperative relationship between construction enterprises of both countries. The Vietnamese Ministry of Construction has facilitated and guided Cuban enterprises in preparing documents to obtain a second-class organizational capacity certificate for the civil construction sector and is completing documents to apply for a second-class capacity certificate for the infrastructure and transport sector. This support from Vietnam has helped Cuban companies develop, leverage their advantages, and invest in many new projects.
Regarding the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two Ministries, Minister Rene Mesa Villafana said that cooperation between the two sides has been progressing. Currently, Vietnamese construction enterprises investing and operating in Cuba are still facing many difficulties. The Cuban Ministry of Construction and relevant units will support and collaborate with each entity to assess challenges and obstacles and seek solutions to overcome them as soon as possible. At the same time, they will create more favorable conditions for enterprises to invest and operate effectively.
In the future, cooperation between enterprises of both sides will continue to expand, thereby promoting robust cooperation in the construction sector. The Ministry of Construction will focus on supporting Cuban enterprises investing and doing business in Vietnam. Vietnam is also willing to share its experience with Cuba in law-making, particularly in the fields of housing and the real estate market.
