(Construction) - On October 20, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi had a meeting with leaders of the Vietnam Urban Planning and Development Association (VUPDA) to strengthen the cooperation mechanism between the two sides in the coming time.
At the meeting, the VUPDA expressed its wish to continue receiving the guidance from the leaders of the Ministry of Construction so that its activities would become more diversity, profession and appropriate with reality; to be an extended arm of specialized organization in the urban planning and development management at localities.

Chairman Tran Ngoc Chinh affirmed that the VUPDA would accompany always and assist the Ministry of Construction in forming and completing the institutions, legislation, social criticism advice for important projects of the construction industry. In order to have more funds to support the VUPDA activities, Mr. Tran Ngoc Chinh requested the Ministry of Construction to assign the VUPDA participating and managing the related projects on consulting works, social counter-arguments, development of legislative documents, regulations, standards and so on.
In addition, to recognize the VUPDA achievements and contributions, Chairman Tran Ngoc Chinh also requested the Ministry of Construction to award the Emulation Flag at the 25th Anniversary of its foundation scheduled on December 2, 2023.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi acknowledged and appreciated the positive results that the VUPDA achieved in past 25 years of construction and development, especially achievements in consultancy and social counter-arguments and development in legal documents for the construction industry, notably Resolution 06-NQ/TW and other important Resolutions of the Ministry of Politics.
The Ministry of Construction highly appreciates and is ready to create favorable conditions for activities of the VUPDA. The Minister directed units under the Ministry to strengthen coordination with units under the VUPDA in the field of planning - architecture.
In particular, the Minister expressed his hope that the VUPDA would participate more actively in the development of legislative documents supporting the government management of the construction industry. In the coming time, the Ministry of Construction would strengthen coordination with the VUPDA and have more specific ties through the signing of cooperation documents.
