(Construction) - On December 20, at the Ministry of Construction, the 40th meeting session of the Vietnam - Cuba Intergovernmental Committee (UBLCP) took place in an online form.

Attending the meeting on the Vietnamese side, were the Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Cuba, Mr. Le Thanh Tung, together with related leaders of Vietnamese ministries, agencies and businesses.

On the Cuban side, were the Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, the Co-Chairman of the Cuba - Vietnam UBLCP, Mr. Malmierca Diaz; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in Vietnam, Mr. Nicolas Hernandez Guillen, together with Cuban ministries, government agencies and businesses.

Evaluating the results of economic and scientific and technical cooperation within the framework of the Vietnam - Cuba UBLCP, the two sides noted that relevant units have achieved maximum efforts, cooperated closely and gained many positive results in implementing the commitments of the MOU of the 39th Session.

At this meeting section, the two sides signed the MOU of the 40th meeting of the Vietnam - Cuba UBLCP on economic and scientific and technical cooperation. At this meeting, Vietnamese businesses would like to offer the Cuban people 500 tons of rice, which to be delivered to the Cuban port in January 2023. The two sides actively discussed to implement the cooperation agreement. The Vietnamese side affirmed its willingness to share experiences with Cuban partners in many aspects.

The two co-chairs of the Vietnam - Cuba UBLCP Committee, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi and Minister Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz both affirmed that, with mutual determination and efforts, the two sides will continue to cooperate closely and effectively implement the agreements, the MOU contributing to promote socio-economic development in each country, develop comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.
