Space industry exhibition in Tokyo to showcase various business including construction industry

(Construction) - The International Space Industry Exhibition which was held in Tokyo from February 1 to 3 brought together robots, products, and life support services such food, clothing, and housing specializing in space and lunar surface development projects.

Japanese construction company Kajima introduced its artificial gravity facilities for space habitation. The company is conducting joint research with Kyoto University on the lunar surface and Mars, and exhibited panels and a model of Mars Glass, an artificial gravity facility for Mars. They are currently simulating which materials can shield radiation and to what extent.

In addition to space architecture with water surfaces and other features, a floating spaceport is being studied. The company plans to build an airborne spaceport 30 kilometers above the equator off the coast of Singapore to provide highly efficient access to space and remote airports. "We will solve the problems in front of us one by one. We will also build a moving model to promote the business," said the company's representative. (2023/02/09)
