(Construction) - On March 31, at the Ministry of Construction, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van had a meeting with Korean Deputy Minister of Environment KUM HanSeung on promoting cooperation between the two countries in the field of construction.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van highly appreciated the friendly cooperation relationship between the two sides over the past years. Vietnam and South Korea have achieved many impressive achievements in bilateral and multilateral cooperation over the past 30 years since the two countries officially established diplomatic relations in 1992.
In order to promote cooperation between the two ministries in the near future, the Ministry of Construction proposed the Korean Ministry of Environment to develop a draft MoU on cooperation in the near future between the two ministries to replace the Memorandum of Understanding in 2013. The Ministry of Construction assigned the Department of International Cooperation to act as the contact point for relevant units to draft the Memorandum of Understanding for signing in the near future.
At the meeting, Korean Deputy Minister of Environment KUM HanSeung acknowledged the outstanding cooperation achievements between the two ministries in the field of construction since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in 2013 and emphasized, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea has elevated the two countries' relationship to a strategic partnership.
Deputy Minister KUM HanSeung noted that the Korean Ministry of Environment willing to share experiences in the water supply and drainage, to support Vietnam to come up with policies suitable for development conditions in Vietnam. The Korean Ministry of Environment also proposed the idea of implementing an ODA project on the establishment of a concentrated industrial cluster for Vietnam-Korea enterprises and waste treatment plants to exchange information and technology transfer between the two countries.
Through the exchange, the two sides agreed on the plans to be implemented in the near future, the two ministries will jointly draft a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties with the main focus on green growth urban areas and water supply and drainage; continue to strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two sides before and after signing the next Memorandum of Understanding.
