(Construction) - Within the framework of the visit of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and high-ranking Vietnamese delegation in Argentina, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi had a meeting with the Minister of Territorial Development and Habitat of Development in Argentina Maggiotti.

At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi noted the results of cooperation between the two ministries in the past time, the two sides have implemented the contents of the minutes in the VII meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee on economic, trade and science and technology cooperation between Vietnam and Argentina signed in August 2021, including a cooperation agreement in the field of construction.
In February 2022, the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Argentina Ministry of Territorial Development and Habitat held an online meeting to exchange industry management experience in architectural planning, housing, urban and infrastructure development and building materials.
The Ministry of Construction of Vietnam hoped that the two ministries will strengthen the exchange of specialized cooperation and promote trade and investment cooperation between construction enterprises of the two countries on the basis of potentials and strengths of both sides.
The Ministry of Construction wished to strengthen the exchange of delegations, exchange of information and share experiences in the field of architectural planning, housing development, especially social housing development, smart green cities responding to climate change, develop technical infrastructure and construction materials.
At the meeting, Minister Maggiotti emphasized that the two ministries have many similar areas of state management. The mission of the Argentine Ministry of Territorial Development and Habitat is to plan the city, in conjunction with local authorities. Currently, the Ministry is focusing on coordinating with localities to plan the areas where houses can be built.
According to Minister Maggiotti, the lands in Argentina are all privately owned. In order to be built, they must ask permission from the government, so the price of land is quite different, people have to buy the lands with the price that could be five times higher than the land price set by the state. Minister Maggiotti also discussed with Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi about Argentina's experiences, development policies, and beneficiaries of social housing.
In the end, affirming the great potentials of cooperation between the two ministries, in the coming time, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi suggested that the two sides should strengthen the cooperation and exchange to find out areas of mutual interest and benefit in the future collaborative development.
