(Construction) - The government of Japan unveiled the Japan pavilion for the 2020 Dubai World Expo, which will open in the United Arab Emirates on October 1.
The exhibition space will be created using latest technologies and graphic arts. Visitors' behavioral data will be collected by smartphones that will be rented at the site. The climax of the exhibition will be changed based on the collected data. The pavilion will also introduce its efforts in connection with the theme of the Japan International Exposition to be held in 2025 under the theme of "Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”

The exterior of the Japan Pavilion combines the "arabesque" patterns used in Islamic architecture with the image of origami to express the connection between the history of the Middle East and Japan. The designer is Dentsu Live. Yuko Nagayama Architects and NTT Facilities are participating as chief architectural designers. UAE-based Obayashi Middle East, a group company of Obayashi Corporation, constructed the building.
The theme of the Dubai Expo is "Connecting Minds and Creating the Future " and more than 192 countries are expected to participate. The exhibition will last until March 31, 2022. (2021/09/29)
