(Construction) – On May 30, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van chaired a meeting to gather opinions from various ministries and branches on three key issues: reviewing the criteria for classifying urban areas of Hai Phong city according to Type I urban area standards, assessing the level of urban infrastructure development in the planned An Duong district, and the expanded Hong Bang district.
Representatives from the relevant ministries and branches provided feedback on these topics. On behalf of the local government, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Anh Quan received the comments at the meeting and addressed issues related to unifying statistical data in the project, the roadmap for meeting standards, upgrading urban wastewater treatment systems, and building new model rural areas. The Permanent Vice Chairman pledged to direct responsible units to promptly revise and complete the project in accordance with the feedback from the ministries and branches.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van praised the methodical preparation of the project and commended Hai Phong City open-minded approach in organizing administrative units. He affirmed that the expansion of the inner city is inevitable for a city with significant potential and development advantages like Hai Phong. However, he also emphasized the need for Hai Phong City to address unmet standards and establish clear development orientations for the future.
The Deputy Minister stressed that the data in the project must comply with legal regulations and that its sources must be clear and authentic. In the absence of official statistics, the report on the assessment of urban infrastructure development in the planned An Duong district and the expanded Hong Bang district can utilize data from specialized agencies.
He also requested that the city clarify how the inner city expansion relates to the establishment of Thuy Nguyen City. Additionally, the project must review traffic routes, natural areas, population size, and thoroughly study solutions and resources to meet the unmet standards. Furthermore, Hai Phong City must pay attention to the pace of urbanization, promote industrial development, and ensure income growth for its residents.
