(Construction) - On April 11, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province held a conference to announce the adjustment of the general planning of Hai Duong city to 2040.
At the conference, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van emphasized that the plan to create a premise for the socio-economic development of Hai Duong city in particular and Hai Duong province in general. It is meaningful and important for the Red River Delta region and the country. The general planning of Hai Duong city has defined a new vision, affirming the nature, role and position of the city in new conditions. The planning is the basis for Hai Duong city to well manage construction activities in the area, implement urban planning and investment projects to ensure the views, principles and compliance with spacial development orientations.

In order to effectively implement the planning, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van suggested the People's Committee of Hai Duong province, Hai Duong city and provincial departments, agencies and branches to studyinvestment projects along the Thai Binh river, Sat river, riverbank areas located in the Thai Binh river flood drainage corridor that should comply with regulations on dykes and flood prevention. At the same time, the impacts on socio-economic, environmental landscape, security and defense should be assessed carefully.
Spaces for future development and response to climate change and disaster prevention should be preserved actively. For the policy of relocating agencies, facilities and factories in the central area, it is necessary to consider a specific route, ensuring harmonious interests among the parties. Hai Duong city should comprehensively manage construction investment activities, urban development, space management, architecture and urban landscape in accordance with the planning.
