Change about urbanization and sustainable urban development

(Construction) - On June 16 and 17, the Central Economic Commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Construction chaired the organization of the Vietnam Urban Sustainable Development Forum with the theme "Sustainable urban development towards green, smart cities adapting to climate change, preventing and fighting natural disasters and epidemics".

The plenary sessions had more than 300 delegates representing ministries, branches, localities, domestic and international organizations directly participated and more than 2,000 participants attended online in 872 cities nationwide at national bridge points.

At the high-level plenary session, the delegates focused on in-depth analysis and clarification of the strategic orientation of urbanization and urban development; experience share in urban governance capacity and green, smart, sustainable urban development…

In summarization of the Forum after 2 days with many practical events, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi highly appreciated the enthusiastic and responsible contributions of domestic and international experts and scientists, business leaders at seminars and general meetings. Very valuable contributions to the Central Economic Committee, the Ministry of Construction will advise to the Government to continue and improve mechanisms and policies, implement the objectives and tasks in Resolution 06-NQ/TW .

"Resolution 06-NQ/TW is an important political basis for the introduction of new mechanisms and policies to create impetus for urban development contributing more to socio-economic development and sustainably" - the Minister suggested that ministries, branches and localities focus on effectively implementing Resolution 06-NQ/TW in the coming time.

On June 16 - 17, within the framework of the Forum, four seminars were held, including "Improving institutions and policies to promote urbanization and sustainable urban development by 2030, vision to 2045”; “Synchronous and effective integration of urban reconstruction and digital transformation in association with the vision of sustainable urban development”; “Building urban areas, a chain of smart cities connecting domestically and internationally by 2030, with a vision to 2045”; “Developing new urban models and promoting economic transformation in urban areas towards green and sustainable growths”.
