An U.S.-based data center operator Equinix will invest about $74 million to build an International Business Exchange (IBX) data center in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta.
The eight-story facility is scheduled to open in 2024. The site is located in the Internet Exchange Area of Jakarta's Central Business District. When completed, the facility will have more than 5,300m2 for colocation. The company plans to provide more than 1,600 cabinets.

According to the company, Indonesia has emerged as the largest digital economy in Southeast Asia in terms of value due to the rapid digitization of business and the increase in digital talent. Major cloud service providers have opened cloud regions in the country, which is expected to become the second largest public cloud market in Southeast Asia. These factors are driving the need to expand digital services and data center services capacity in the country. (2022/10/19)
