(Construction) - On December 15, the Urban Development Agency of the Ministry of Construction held a conference to review work tasks in 2021 and plan work tasks in 2022. Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi chaired the event.
Speaking at the conference, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi acknowledged and highly appreciated the results that the Agency has achieved in 2021, and requested to review the limitations to overcome and perform well the work tasks in 2022.
The Minister noted that Vietnam's urban system had achieved a strong development, but still only in small cities. The urban quality has increased but still not met the requirements. The Agency had tried in legislative works but still delayed in supplementing. Therefore, the Minister requested the Agency should closely coordinate with other departments and units of the Ministry of Construction to well perform the 2022 work tasks.

The Minister especially emphasized a number of important tasks that need to be focused on, such as formulating the Law on Urban Development Management; Implementing the national urban and rural system planning for the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; Strengthening the State management, urban classification according to Resolution 1210/2016/UBTVQH13; Researching strategies and new urban development models in line with the development trends and realities of the country; Quickly implementing digital transformation and so on.
