(Construction) - On August 1, at the Conference "Promoting the development of social housing for workers and low-income people" chaired by the Prime Minister, Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi proposed many solutions to remove difficulties and create conditions and motivations for social housing development to complete the goal of building 1 million apartments for social housing and workers by 2030.

The Ministry of Construction shall assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with relevant ministries and branches in removing obstacles in terms of mechanisms, policies and laws, effectively implementing and promoting the development of social housing and housing for workers in industrial zones.
The Ministry of Construction shall coordinate with the State Bank of Vietnam to guide and coordinate with localities in reviewing the list of investors in social housing and worker housing projects with borrowing the 2% interest rate package through the commercial banking system of Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP.
The Ministry of Construction shall urge the localities to review and supplement the plans, allocate land fund for the development of social housing in urban areas, housing for workers in accordance with law; strictly comply with the regulation of setting aside 20% of the land stock for social housing in housing projects and urban areas.
The Ministry of Construction shall strengthen the inspection, examination, supervision and handling of violations in the implementation of the law on social housing development. At the same time, the Ministry of Construction shall propose relevant ministries, branches and localities to effectively implement solutions to remove difficulties and promote the development of social housing in the coming time.
