The Daily Engineering & Construction News hopes to help Vietnamese cities with smart urban development

(Construction) - Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan launched an assistance program called “Smart JAMP” in 2020 for cities in ASEAN region including Vietnam that wish to develop smart cities taking advantages of Japanese advanced technologies.

Japan and ASEAN have worked closely together to promote smart city development, hosting ASEAN-Japan Smart Cities Network High Level Meeting annually. The first meeting was held in Yokohama in 2019, and the Daily Engineering & Construction News participated in organizing the event in cooperation with MLIT.

Japanese government established a public-private group called JASCA, Japan Association for Smart Cities in ASEAN, in 2019 with an aim to cultivate collaboration between Japanese businesses and the public sector in ASEAN and have since undertaken various measures under the scheme of Smart JAMP.

Japanese construction company completes first 3D printed building certified by Infrastructure Minister

(Construction) - Japanese construction company Obayashi Corporation has completed a 3D-printed building at the company's Technical Research Institute in Kiyose, Tokyo, which makes the first building in Japan to be certified by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism under the Building Standards Law as a 3D printed building using cement materials.
