(Construction) – That was the theme of the International Conference of the Planning Associations of the Asia-Pacific region taking place in Da Nang from August 17 to 19, 2023. The opening session officially started on August 18, hosted by the Vietnam Urban Development Planning Association (VUDPA). The Conference was participated by Planning Associations of Japan, Korea and Taiwan.

Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van shared: “As the unit that directly manages and directs the activities of the VUDPA in the field of construction planning, urban and rural development, I hope that at this International Conference, special attention should be paid to the exchange of key issues such as: What is a historic city, a heritage city, how to classify them, international experiences and preservation and promotion solutions of heritage values in regional and urban planning…”
The Deputy Minister expressed that, it was a very good opportunity for international experts, researchers, lecturers and students in many fields related to urban development planning, preservation and promotion of the values of historic cities from the Planning Associations of Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam that exchanging experiences and learning from each other in preservation and promotion solutions of heritage values in the new context.
