Over the 10 years of implementation (2009 - 2019), the urban planning and development under the orientation has achieved certain results: The number of urban areas increased; The rate of urbanization increased from 29.6% to 35.7% and 38.4%. This was a period of rapid urban growth, with the city increasing in number and size.
Development and rational distribution of the whole country that has an organic relationship with each other to become an optimal development overall, creating balanced development among regions. Building a path for the urban and rural development process to ensure stability, green sustainability and intelligence based on appropriate space organization.
In short, Deputy Minister Nguyen Dinh Toan summarized the comments and opinions of the Appraisal Council. Deputy Minister also agreed with the views of the Council members, the master plan should not intervene deeply into the cities but the orientation should clearly show the development of regional connectivity.
