(Construction) - This is an important content emphasized by the Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha in the interview with the Government Newspaper on the occasion of the New Year.
In 2019, the entire construction industry from the central to local levels and the business community of construction industry have been proactive, striving to fulfill the assigned goals and achieve extremely important results.
As for overall results, 7/8 of the industry's major development targets have been achieved and exceeded, of which the estimated growth rate is 9.1%, contributing more than 1% to economic growth. State management on construction has been strengthened, construction activities are stable and orderly. Construction quality is guaranteed. Management of construction order has changed better. Construction licensing index ranked 25/190 economy, 3rd in ASEAN.
The urban system expanded to 835 urban areas, the urbanization rate reached 39.2%, exceeding the target set by the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress. The real estate market is basically controlled, 4 years of continuous stability and growth. Despite the local land price fever, there have not been any signs of extreme. The market of construction materials develops, meeting the requirements of domestic consumption and export. It can be said that, in 2019, the whole construction industry continued to put all its efforts into key stages, long-term tasks and promptly implement, propose and consult with the Government to solve outstanding problems in practice. The work of building and perfecting institutions and state management tools continue to be focused on promoting and perfecting in the direction of creating a complete, unified legal environment to best serve practices. Business investment environment in the construction industry is improved. Construction activities have been increasingly organized, the quality of the works is guaranteed, facilitating people and businesses.
In 2020, the construction industry has also set specific goals for each important field such as the value of construction production of the whole industry increased by 9-10% compared to 2019; urbanization rate reaches about 40%; the proportion of urban people provided with clean water is about 90%; average housing area reaches 24m2 floor/person.
2020 is also the last year of the term, therefore all units, collectives and individuals will draw lessons, experiences, as a basis for orientation of tasks and solutions in the next 5 years; continue to promote the leading role of the Party organizations creating solidarity, consensus, care of employment life for workers to promote their capacity and contributing to the strength of each unit as well as the whole industry.
