(Construction) - On September 14, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference to appraise the national master plan for the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi contributed comments to clarify some contents.

As for the component of the current situation and development direction of the urban and rural system, according to Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi, the existing situation should be clarified, in which the role and contribution of the urban and rural network should be carefully and clearly evaluated. The urban quality, urbanization, impacts of urban expansion and development should be assessed.
Regarding the development direction of the urban and rural system, the Minister of Construction suggested: Development viewpoints and goals should be closely followed the objectives, tasks and solutions stated in Resolution No. 06-NQ/TW dated on On January 24, 2022 of the Politburo, resolutions on specific mechanisms and policies of localities and development orientations of related sectors and fields issued by competent authorities.
At the same time, the Minister of Construction proposed to clarify the roles, relationships and boundaries among large urban areas, key economic regions and dynamic regions proposed in the National Master Plan; among the system of key urban centers, the growth poles associated with the space of 08 East-West economic corridors and North-South economic corridors. for exploration, processing and use of minerals as building materials, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that the current situation should carefully evaluated the implemented plans, as a basis for proposing orientations in the national master plan report.
Regarding the orientation, the Minister said that: Mineral activities in general and minerals as building materials in particular were an important economic sector to meet the needs for the process and development of the country. The use of minerals in service of the building materials industry should be harmonized and associate with environmental protection, the the use of mineral resources should be efficient based on the spirit of Resolution No. 10-NQ/ TW dated February 10, 2022 of the Politburo.
Finally, the Minister noted that: Specific details will be clearly shown in the planning for exploration, exploitation and processing of minerals for construction materials, which is being prepared and will be submitted and approved by the end of 2022.
