(Construction) - On March 28, 2023, in Hanoi, Minister of Construction of Vietnam Nguyen Thanh Nghi had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America in Vietnam, Mr. Marc E. Knapper.
At the meeting, the Minister noticed that, the Ministry of Construction is an agency of the Government, performing the function of State management of construction planning and architecture; construction investment activities; urban Development; infrastructure; housing; real estate market; building materials; state management of public services of the Ministry according to the provisions of law. Expressing his delight at the growing relationship between Vietnam and the United States since the two countries normalized the diplomatic relations in 1995 and established a comprehensive partnership in 2013, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that in the process of building a comprehensive cooperative relationship between the two countries, there are significant contributions of the construction industry.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi hoped to further promote the cooperation relationship between the Ministry of Construction and US agencies and partners in the fields of housing management of the Ministry of Construction, especially sharing the experience of the United States in urban development, smart cities, housing in general and housing for low-income people in particular.
In responding to Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi and leaders of units under the Ministry of Construction, Ambassador Marc E. Knapper expressed that he was very excited about the results of cooperation between the Ministry of Construction and US partners. According to Ambassador Marc E. Knapper, Vietnam and the United States still have a lot of potential for cooperation, especially in smart city development, sustainable development, energy and so on. Recently, many delegations of the US Government and representatives have visited and expanded cooperation with Vietnamese ministries and businesses. It showed that the cooperation relationship between the Governments of the two countries and the construction industry had a lot of potential.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized: Within the scope of its functions and tasks, the Ministry of Construction would be always pay attention and create favorable conditions for international businesses, including American businesses to strengthen the cooperation, invest and develop in Vietnam, within the framework of current Vietnamese laws. Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi hoped that Ambassador Marc E. Knapper would continue to pay attention and facilitate cooperation between the Ministry of Construction and US agencies and partners, making an important contribution to promoting the cooperation. The comprehensive cooperation relationship between Vietnam and the United States will develop more in the future.
