Master plan adjustment of Ho Chi Minh City and master plan of Thu Duc city

(Construction) - On July 16, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Construction held a conference to appraise "Tasks to adjust the master plan of Ho Chi Minh City to 2040, vision to 2060" and "Tasks of the master plan of Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh city” in the form of online.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi - Chairman of the Appraisal Council chaired the conference.

Concluding the conference, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi guided:

For tasks to adjust the master plan of Ho Chi Minh City to 2040, with a vision to 2060, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi proposed to leaders of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Planning and Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City, the consulting unit to review, update and supplement fully the legal basis; clarify the necessity of the role, position and nature of the city; orientations in implementing Decision No. 24/QD-Tg of the Prime Minister; impacts of climate change on the city; scopes and boundaries need to be reviewed in accordance with other relevant plans.

For tasks of master plan of Thu Duc city, the Minister requested relevant organizations to review and supplement the plan basis; clarify the connection among Thu Duc city and surrounding urban areas; clearly delineate functions with the central area of Ho Chi Minh City; supplement documents and data, review criteria and standards that need to be completed according to the criteria of urban centers of grade I; review the current socio-economic and land situation.

The Minister requested leaders of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to guide functional agencies and consultants to study and get the opinions of the Appraisal Council to complete tasks to adjust the master plan of Ho Chi Minh City and the master plan of Thu Duc city, then send to the Ministry of Construction as the basis submitting to the Prime Minister for approval.
