(Construction) - Tokyo-based electrical construction company JESCO Holdings has been preparing the training programs for BIM engineers in Vietnam. The company exchanged a memorandum of understanding with Kogakuin University in Tokyo and Kyoto-based technology startup SOBA Project to develop the training courses for students of Da Nang University of Science and Technology in Vietnam. The project is expected to begin by 2021.

JESCO plans to invite some of the Vietnamese engineers who are trained in the program to Japan with an aim to address the shortage of engineers in small and medium-sized enterprises in Japan. “We would like the graduates to work as BIM design engineers in both Japan and Vietnam. We hope to establish the human resource interaction among the two countries," said Chairman and CEO Toshihiro Matsumoto.
In the program, the companies will build the system which connects the classrooms of Kogakuin University and Da Nang University of Science and Technology via the internet and allows the students to attend the same lectures. The Japanese side will give lectures on latest BIM theories and practical skills to teachers at Da Nang University, who will supplement the online training and follow up the students face-to-face.
