(Construction) - Japanese construction company Yokogawa Engineered Structure System is promoting the "multi-use stadium" which incorporates the filed lift system with a soccer ground.
Japanese company proposes multi-use soccer stadium with ground lifting system |
With the field lifted up, non-football events can be held on the ground for about 300 days a year which can increase the occupancy rate of the stadium and improve the financial status.
Normally, to maintain the turf condition, it was not possible to let people in the soccer stadium and hold events even during the off-season. The multi-use stadium has a space for other sports events such as basketball, volleyball, tennis, skating, etc. on the concrete ground below the field. Since the passenger seats at the bottom of the stand can be moved separately, it can be set so as to surround a field of a different size. It can also accommodate large-scale concerts.
As the lifted field will serve as a roof, the stadium can host events in any weather condition. Arched steel structures above the stadium are installed with wires for lifting as well as a retractable shade which can prevent strong direct sunlight in the summer. (2020/07/22)
