Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh asked to ensure the successful organization of the World Economic Forum on ASEAN (WEF ASEAN), especially facilitating ministries, agencies, localities and businesses to get access to and expand cooperation with leading corporations in the world.

The Deputy PM on August 9 chaired a meeting with relevant ministries and agencies on preparations and organization of the WEF ASEAN 2018, which is scheduled for September 11-13 in Viet Nam.
At the meeting, delegates reviewed the preparation works for the event, particularly the contents, program and the participation of high-ranking leaders as well as reception, logistics, communications, culture, security and health works to guarantee the success of the event.
The WEF ASEAN is a big and prestigious forum in the region, attracting the participation of high-ranking leaders from other nations in the region, international organizations and representatives of the world’s leading corporations, said Mr. Minh.
He highlighted it as one of the nation’s crucial diplomatic activities in 2018, making contributions to consolidating and upgrading the nation’s status.
The Deputy PM requested the organization board, ministries, agencies and localities to uphold their responsibility, resolutely make efforts and mobilize all resources for the event.
He suggested introducing the potential, advantages, business and the investment environment and boost cooperation with top corporations and partners in the world at the forum.
With the theme “ASEAN 4.0: Entrepreneurship and the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, the forum will covers 60 sessions, including sideline activities such as a forum on innovative start-up, a festival on Vietnamese culture and a business summit.
The event is expected to attract the participation of around 800-1,000 delegates, including high-ranking leaders in ASEAN and other nations in the region, representatives from large-scaled organizations and world and regional leading corporations.
