At the meeting, General Director of Siam City Cement Group (Thailand) Aidan John Lynam expressed that over the past time, Siam City Cement regularly connected with the Ministry of Construction and actively cooperated with the Vietnam Institute for Building Materials deploying advanced technology applications in cement production, new products. Currently, Siam City Cement has completed the necessary procedures to conduct investment expansion in Vietnam.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh overviewed the situation of cement production in Vietnam, recently the Ministry of Construction has conducted an overall assessment of cement production activities. The Ministry of Construction requested cement businesses to actively pay attention to improve technologies, protect the environment, make use of waste heat, and use waste as input materials in cement production.
At the same time, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh noted that currently, the Ministry of Construction coordinated with localities to build a master plan on minerals as construction materials, including minerals used for cement production. Therefore, Siam City Cement should review and evaluate the source of raw materials in the process of expanding the cement production line in Vietnam.
