(Construction) - On October 6, Joint Venture BRG (Vietnam), Sumitomo (Japan) and Hanoi People's Committee officially announced the Smart City project.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha, together with leaders of ministries, departments, sectors and leaders of many provinces and localities attended the groundbreaking ceremony of this important project.
The project is expected to create a new symbol of vitality, bringing modern and classy living standards, creating motivation for socio-economic development of Vietnam in the future. The implementation of the project also demonstrates the pioneering and determination of Hanoi City when soon realizing the importance of the 4th Industrial Revolution of the Politburo, with a vision to 2025 with at least three Smart urban areas in three key economic regions in the North, the South and the Central.
Speaking at the Groundbreaking Ceremony, Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha assessed: The project demonstrates the determination to develop Smart City projects in Vietnam, the most comprehensive and scale project in Vietnam up to this point. Hopefully the two corporations will focus all resources to implement the project which looking forward to seeing the presence of a smart, large-sized urban area with more good experiences in developing Smart City projects in the near future.
According to the plan of the BRG - Sumitomo joint venture, people will enjoy the maximum pervasive benefits from synchronous development of modern and sustainable infrastructure; thereby accelerating the process of socio-economic development of the Capital. The project is expected to apply many smart technologies. Smart building management system and renewable energy technology will also be prioritized to optimize energy supply and storage. The project also intends to deploy an environmentally friendly public transport system, connecting the smart city area with the center of Hanoi, helping people move smoothly and quickly.
